Bio

Some jerks are a female-led garage/surf rock band from Brisbane, Inspired by the girl groups, and garage rock, of the 60's, and once quoted as “sounding like Sleater-Kinney covering the Shangri-las”.

Formed in late 2010, they released their self titled EP, in 2011(mixed and mastered by Kramer of Bongwater), followed by debut Album “ Buddy Rich made Me Cry”.

2014 saw the release of “Dark and Dead of Night/ Nancy”....a couple of songs about love, and digging graves. It was accompanied by a film clip for “Dark
and Dead of Night”, Directed by Brisbane cult film maker, Andrew Leavold (of Lesbo-A-Go-Go, and The Search for Weng Weng fame).

All releases included singles that have received extensive play on community radio, and placed high in the annual 4zzz Hot 100.

Some jerks are a tight live unit, and have played shows with The New Christs, The Bellrays, The Scientists, The Coathangers, Cosmic Psychos, Ron Peno, Even, Sixfthick, Hits, Cash Savage and The Last Drinks, and many other great bands...They have also played up and down the east coast of Australia.

Recently Some jerks have released their second Album “Strange Ways”. It has received great reviews, was voted as the Best album of 2016, by the combined 4zzz announcers, and was included in the top 10 under the radar Australian releases, by The Guardians Kate Hennessy.

Some jerks were selected as finalists at the 2017 Qld Music Awards, in the rock category with their song “The Hunter”.

2018 Saw the release of "Star" on a split single with Powerline Sneakers and in 2019 "A Million Girls was released as a digital single.

Original guitarist Will O'Brien after recording his guitar parts for "Summertime Funtime",left the band late 2019 to be replaced by Brent Wilson.
